This summer I’ve added a few more products to my “love” list and I can’t wait to share them with you.
1. First up, COVERGIRL’s Super Sizer by LashBlast® Mascara. If you follow me on Instagram (you totally should!) you may remember the day I was a very lucky lady and had a package from CoverGirl on my doorstep with this new mascara. My friend Kathleen had been raving about this mascara so I was doubly excited to give it a try. And guess what? It’s incredible. I have super short and super straight lashes. I curl them every day and use strip lashes for special events. This mascara goes on thick yet not clumpy with the first pass, and after about 30 seconds, I swear the lashes look lifted. I apply 1 coat, let it dry, curl my lashes, then apply a second coat. I’ve applied it without even curling my lashes and when I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror I’m surprised how curled and lengthened they look. So try it out and let me know. At this price you can’t lose! Thanks, COVERGIRL. XO
2. Ambre Blends in Invoke. I literally stopped dead in my tracks in the middle of a store a few months ago and sniffed my way to a woman who was wearing this scented oil. As bizarre as that sounds, she knew exactly why – it had happened to her several times before. She was gracious and helpful and wrote the name and website down for me and I literally ordered it sitting in my car in the parking lot. This scent is organic, natural, and a bit earthy without being heavy. The Invoke blend has a bright springy note to it and changes depending on your own body chemistry. I use the oil liberally and notice how it heats up during the day. After years of searching, I think I’ve finally FINALLY found my signature scent, and I’m actually OK telling the world about it because it will be a little different for everyone.
3. StriVectin NIA-114 anti-aging products. The thanks go to the team at StriVectin for sending me these anti-aging products to try out because YES, I need all of the anti-aging technology possible these days. The Instant Revitalizing Mask is a thick white paste that dries after fifteen minutes. It rinses right off and my skin feels fresh and instantly illuminated. I have been doing the mask at night before bed to take off the pore-clogging effects of summer (a delightful mix of sunscreen, sweat and makeup). I follow it up with the Intensive Concentrate for Wrinkles and Stretch Marks which I’ve been using on my face for about a month. It has a tingly/minty feel and isn’t greasy, but I usually give it a few minutes to sink in before my eye cream and nighttime moisturizer. I give my whole face and neck a quick coat, then concentrate more on my forehead, in between my brows and my chest. My chest is the area I worry most about with wrinkles. It’s taken on a lot of sun damage over the years and I can see the fine lines, so the boost of collagen is needed. The StriVectin products have huge followings and fantastic reviews online, and I’m happy to be one of the loyal users. I’m looking forward to seeing what my skin looks like after a few months of the products!
4. Essie Gel Setter Top Coat. This summer has been full of slow and easy days, a nice break from the hustle and bustle of events, and I’ve taken this downtime to give myself a break from all the manicuring it takes to look presentable! One of the reasons I don’t do home manicures is because they don’t last more than a few minutes, that is until now! This gel setter top coat is pretty awesome, y’all. It is thick and takes some time to dry, so don’t rush it, but you can add it over ANY POLISH and you have yourself a long lasting and glossy mani. I recently took it off with just regular polish remover. No need for filing or aluminum foil tips, and best of all: my nails are not destroyed!
So there you have it. A few new favorites. Try them out and let me know what you think!
