Eeek! So excited to be a part of the inaugural A Couture Cause Trend Guide. A Couture Cause is the result of the incredibly talented & fashionable Lyndsey Zorich and photographer Traci Ling. Local boutiques were paired with local “models” – real life women who are moving and shaking in the creative communities, and their photographs were taken around town in front of some of Houston’s great public art installations. I feel proud to have had a small part on the committee and to be one of the models. I learned so much from Lyndsey and Traci during the making of the guide. All of this hard work was celebrated in style at a fabulous fete at Station 3 where the Trend Guide was officially launched. I literally had tears in my eyes looking through the gorgeous book!
Sounds like an incredible project, right? Well it gets even better because A Couture Cause was designed to benefit local charities. The 2016 Trend Guide benefits the Youth Hope Association, an organization that creates interactive events to improve the quality of life for pediatric patients undergoing treatment at local hospitals, and the Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation whose mission is to fund sarcoma specific research, create greater awareness of sarcoma cancer and provide tangible support to thousands of men, women and children affected by the disease. A Couture Cause marries fashion + local + philanthropy into one cool book and incredible party.
These are my photos from the Trend Guide. So fun, right? My head-to-toe is all from Brooke Feather, a stylish and photographed at the iconic Biscuit Paint Wall in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston. You can see the entire trend guide (online version at least) here, and if you’re in Houston you can find a copy at one of the participating boutiques.
Thanks to Houstonia Magazine for the wonderful write up!
