One of the best parts of living in Houston is the winter – meaning, it’s the mildest time of year, and the best time to be outside. Although we’ve had a few legit chilly days, most have been downright perfect “sweater weather” where a sweater and scarf (or light jacket) is all you need to keep you warm, like this ridiculously soft split hem cashmere sweater I’m wearing over my go-to leather leggings. I added the scarf for a little pop of color more than anything.
During this perfect weather, there is nothing I enjoy more than dining al fresco, and coincidentally, this is the exact outfit I wore for a blogger brunch at the brand new Hungry’s in Rice Village – you may have noticed that the old Hungry’s is gone and in its place a beautiful and modern new two story restaurant. We were treated to a preview of Upstairs – the bar & lounge concept above the new restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating where they serve a delicious weekend brunch and weekly happy hour from 4-7pm. We enjoyed a sampling of their brunch menu on their gorgeous covered terrace overlooking Rice Boulevard – it was a windy day, but the sun was shining and the temperature was picture perfect. From the mimosa flight to the french toast (and everything in between) this is a brunch spot not to miss.
Sun’s out, phones out. Gotta love the blogger life!
Upstairs at Hungry’s is 21+ due to the fact that it’s a bar & lounge, so this is the perfect place for brunch with the girls, date night, or week night cocktails with coworkers. Downstairs is shiny & brand new but the same family-friendly Hungry’s that is a staple for this part of town.
Thanks so much to the team at Hungry’s for the fun morning – can’t wait to come back.
