I’ve been doing some pretty serious editing of my closet lately, which is saying a lot, because a couple years ago I took some drastic steps to only purchase and wear quality items that 1) look good 2) feel good and 3) are easy! This formula is what I call my #MomStyle. I love clothing and trying out the latest trends in fashion & beauty, I also have about 10 minutes a day to dedicate to dressing! Nowadays, for the most part at least, I only purchase items I know I need and will fill an important void, say a new blazer that can go with dresses AND denim, or in this case, the perfect white shirt.
The tailored white button down is a staple in every closet, and it can be worn so many ways. Here, I’m at home, in our playroom in fact. My boys made all of that artwork at school – isn’t it great!? Slip it into a simple white frame and we have a gallery wall! Back to my outfit…I’m wearing it over some destructed skinny jeans for just a bit of edge, and my go-to topknot. The key to this look is simplicity, so throw on bracelets, some cute flats and a dab of lipgloss, and you are ready to go. I also like to tie the ends of the shirt around my waist over a tank dress, or do a half-tuck into shorts.
This beautiful wrap bracelet from J.Jill that I’m wearing is pretty special: 100% of the net proceeds from this exclusive bracelet will benefit the J.Jill Compassion Fund to support women in need. It comes in two styles, one with a heart (I’m wearing) and one with a medallion. It is one long stretchy band that you can wrap around 2 or 3 times for the perfect fit. The bracelet makes a great gift and gives back at the same time.
What’s in your closet that you simply can’t go without?
