As a J.Jill life styler, I’m always looking forward to seeing their new collections. The March/April Spring line is full of versatile and stylish pieces you can add into your current wardrobe to make the easy transition from winter to spring. Here are my top picks and how I styled them, photographed by the lovely Leah of Leah Wilson Photography at my home in Houston. It’s way more fun to play dress up with friends!
First up, this swoon-worthy dotted pullover. Made with 100% lightweight cotton, it’s warm enough to wear on its own, yet thin enough to wear as a layer on cool days. It packs well and as easy to throw on as a T-shirt, but much more stylish. Here I’m pairing it with white denim (oh yes! I’m already bringing out the white!) and some unexpected sparkle with this necklace from my current Rocksbox collection. Throw your hair up in a top knot and dab on some minimal makeup and you’re out the door.
My next piece from the J.Jill Spring collection is this striped boat-neck tee. A striped tee is a wardrobe staple and can be styled in so many ways. I like wearing stripes with pops of color, so here I’m pairing it with a bright coral skirt, (my favorite new) necklace from Andrea Montgomery Designs, and the Elaine Turner pumps I’ve been wearing non-stop for over a year. This look is so versatile: office, school meeting, and weekend brunch. I’m still in a top-knot (let’s be real, how often is my hair *NOT* in a bun?), but a bit messier and wearing some bold coral lip color.
My final pick (although trust me, it’s hard to choose! The entire Spring collection is darling!) is the water repellent hooded anorak. This jacket is extremely lightweight but cuts out the damp and cool breeze in the April air. Well, it’s 80 degrees in Houston, but I recently wore it in Boston for an entire weekend. It packs so well – barely taking any space and doesn’t wrinkle. Here I’m wearing it over the same striped boatneck tee and some distressed denim for a classic casual weekend look. I have on wedges for a little height, but this look is so cute with some white Superga sneakers. I am a big fan of hats and sunglasses to 1) keep the sun off my face, and 2) to cover up anything not ready to be seen.
Thanks so much to J.Jill for allowing me to style these looks! Want to get the look? Go directly to J.Jill, and shop similar styles on other pieces here:
