J.Jill’s July painted desert collection is just the burst of warmth I need in my wardrobe. I styled this oh-so-easy dress two different ways. One with an incredible scarf and secondly with a patterened open cardigan. It’s hot hot hot in Houston, but inside it’s freeeeeeezing, so a lightweight scarf or sweater is just the ticket.
I met up with Leah at Pondicheri in Houston for breakfast and to take a few pictures. The interior of Pondicheri is an inspiration fest – everywhere you look there are interesting colors & textures, and that’s not even considering the delicious food!
What to order? is a very tough decision. We went with the citrus cake and a lemon pistachio blueberry trifle. We kind of geeked out at how well it all coordinated with my scarf.
I stopped by Andrea Montgomery Designs studio to select some accessories to wear with my Painted Desert look. I immediately fell in love with the sunstone.
The labrodorite, pearl and sunstone in the La Jolla earrings picked up on all of the colors in the scarf. And the gold linked bracelet stacked so well with my Love bracelet. The little drop of sunstone on the end adds an organic feel to the Kentfield bracelet.
This pastry and trifle are very pretty to look at but even better to eat! Luckily the knit dress is roomy and forgiving. The fabric is thick and non-clingy, perfect for warm weather. The neutral safari color is easy to change up depending on your accessories.
The Jacquard open cardigan is a piece I’m going to wear all year long. The patten is on trend and it’s extremely soft and lightweight. I can imagine this belted with denim and boots come fall…ahhh, Fall, GET here before I melt!
And GREAT news, all of these pieces are on sale and perfect for late summer additions to your closet!
