This week two of my most favorite friends and fellow Houston bloggers and I took a girls trip to Austin, TX. Austin is only a three-hour (or less) drive from Houston, but the city is so different that it truly feels like a getaway, so when GMC offered us a 2016 Acadia Denali to take out for a spin, we immediately set our sights on Austin. Our road trip was hilariously fun: full of laughs, singing and dancing, a minor work crisis (mine), and most notably, a scenic outlook photoshoot off of Hightway 71, right as the flatlands of Houston give way to the hills of Austin.
Local Houston boutique B.Ellen outfitted us for our drive, and this drapey Free People tee was perfect for our getaway. Cozy, but cute, comfortable, and most importantly forgiving! The long marble and gold necklace is just enough accessory without being overdressed for the road. Be sure to check out B.Ellen online and in person if you’re in the Cypress area. The shop is full of home goods, clothing and accessories.
I paired the top with with my workhorse denim shorts, last season’s flat booties from Anthropologie, and my new wood watch by Jord (a full post coming on that beauty soon!). The whole look is as easy breezy as it feels.
Walking the line, as are Megan and Julie. (Don’t worry, Mom, this is on the turnoff for the scenic outlook – we’re not really in the road with traffic!) Be sure to check out their posts about our trip to get all the details on their styles, too!
This is only the beginning! So much more fun, music, food, fashion and adventure awaits…
