I talk about this all the time #BecauseItIsTrue – I love being a J.Jill Life Styler. J.Jill’s collection is always fresh and current – moving with the trends and the seasons. Every time I walk into a store (or pull it up online, mostly), I find new styles that I can’t wait to make my own. This current collection may be one of my favorites. It’s full of breezy and easy fabrics perfect for the warming weather.
First up is this Vintage Postcard pullover. The linen and cotton blend is light and breezy, and the beachy scene is both quirky and cool. I knew exactly how I wanted to style this top the moment I saw it – with skinny distressed denim. The edgy-ness of the jeans counters the sweetness of the top. I’m wearing my gold and cork Elaine Turner heels, no surprise there, and accessorizing with Kendra Scott’s newest collection of jewelry.
We photographed this look at the Biscuit Home paint wall in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston, a perfect backdrop for my summer white look and where I found this fantastic beach bag by Jade Tribe. (One of the many things) I love about Houston is the public art. Everywhere you look it seems there is a boss new public mural. This city loves its artists.
On the other side of the paint wall is a stark black wall which creates a completely different yet equally amazing backdrop for my second J.Jill summer look.
This blue maxi is a summer staple for every closet. It’s thick enough not to cling, lightweight enough to stay cool, and easy enough to chase kids around the playground. The empire waist hits a little high on me, so adding a bold accessory is key to style it well. I’m wearing this soft blue maxi two ways – one with this gorgeous scarf, and the other with a pop of color.
It’s already hot hot hot in Houston, in fact the day we shot this we braved the forecast and lucked out with a squinch of time in between the rain, but the key is to find clothing that will allow you to feel comfortable and still look fab. These two styles hit the mark in my book.
Thank you to J.Jill for yet another fantastic collaboration. What a gorgeous summer collection. And big thanks to the talented Leah Walker Wilson for taking these beautiful photographs.
