Are you a watch person? I have gone through phases in my life where I wore a watch constantly (and would automatically check my wrist for the time even when I didn’t have it on!) and other phases when I rely on my phone to tell me the time. Then I was introduced to JORD (pronounced YO’d), a team of artists designers based in St. Louis, Missouri, and my love of watches came back. St Louis! Do you know the love I have for that great city? Our family spent a too-short amount of time there a few years back and I can tell you without hesitation that it is one of the most family-friendly cities in the US. Tons of cool museums, restaurants and parks. There is always something new and current to do…such a great town to visit or live! So I’m not surprised one bit that a cool and interesting company like JORD is based there!
All of Jord’s watches are handmade from wood – this is the defining design of all their watches. The wood material instantly drew me in because it’s so different – artisan, earthy and fashionable. It has luxury and craft all mixed into one. I’ve been wearing my watch for a couple of weeks now and I get so many questions and compliments, usually starting with “Is that WOOD?!”
I love this deep purple wood combined with the mother of pearl face on the Cora Purpleheart & Pearl watch that I’m wearing. This oxblood/marsala color is *the* color of the season and it goes well with a fall wardrobe.
Check out JORD’s entire line for women & men. They’d make a great gift, too – a new spin on a classic!
