I recently attended the store opening for Five Below in Houston. I’ve never been to a Five Below before and I’d heard it has tons of great products for kids, so was looking forward to checking it out.
Store openings are always exciting, and this was one was quite the party with balloons, prizes, and giveaways galore. I chatted with the store manager for a few minutes and he gave me a lay of the land. There are eight sections of the store and they are clearly labeled and amply stocked: Candy (tons of it), Party (lots of supplies, favors, gift wrap), Tech (think iPhone cases, headphones and accessories), Crafts (including tons of school supplies and kids toys), Sports (balls galore but also yoga mats and hand weights), Room (great for a teens room or college student), Style (hair accessories and flip flops among many others), and Now (Seasonal items).
My primary thought is that the Five Below store exceeded my expectations. The store is sparkly clean, perfectly organized, and best of all, full of quality brand name products like Crayola, Play-Doh, and Igloo just to name a few. I was treated with a $20 gift card for attending the opening – thank you so much Five Below – and let me just say that the possibilities are endless in Five Below with $20.
After walking around the store for a while, I decided on some craft kits that would keep my boys entertained during these long summer afternoons, some sidewalk chalk and scissors to add to their supply collection, and a pack of super hereos for each of them. OK, I went over $20 by a few dollars, but barely – and so far we’ve enjoyed hours of fun drawing on our slate patio, unearthing dinosaur fossils, painting rocks, and having endless battles with the Hulk and Captain America.
Thanks again to Five Below for the invitation and gift card. I had a great time attending the Store Opening and I am sold! This is my new go-to place to pick up gifts, kids crafts, party favors, and seasonal items.
