“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice.” Meister Eickhart
Last week I dumped over 3,000 pictures from my iPhone on to my computer. A year and a half’s worth of moments I never thought I’d forget, like a video of Graham slurping the milk from his cereal bowl, a series of forty selfies of the top of Bennett’s head, close ups of yummy meals, and lots of pictures of the boys sleeping.
Everything “they” say is true, right? Time does in fact go by too quickly (even though at 4:30pm on any given Thursday it feels like every minute is an eternity). The reality is that the quick-file folder in my brain no longer works – it is easily overloaded by all the tasks and minute details that come along with being a busy mama of two. That’s not to say that I don’t see the little things and appreciate them in the moment, it’s just that many of these moments are starting to blur together, or I’m forgetting them altogether.
So what to do besides filling up a 32GB iPhone of photos? I recently started using the Gratitude365 app, and I love it. It basically combines your Notes, Photos, and Calendar functions into one. You can add pictures with a short narration, quickly jot something down, and best of all, look back over the days/weeks/months and be reminded of what was happening. (Now the key here is to quickly make a note and not get lost in six minutes of idle facebooking).
I was looking though my app and saw the day I added this pic of the boys’ feet from my view at the top of the double BOB.
What are you grateful for today? xo
