One of the most serendipitous effects of having a blog is the platform it provides to share information on topics that are truly important, inspirational, personal, and challenging to women, mothers, and families. When Houston IVF asked me to host a brunch at my home with a few Houston women to discuss fertility in a casual, real-life setting, I welcomed the opportunity with wide open arms.
Infertility is often a topic that is often ignored and difficult to cope with during the holiday season, so I truly embraced the chance to open my home to provide this conversation. Our (literal) round-table discussion brought together four women to discuss coping with infertility, the stigma behind talking about infertility among friends, family and co-workers, and how to be a supportive friend to those going through infertility.
Did you know that one in eight individuals in American struggles with infertility? Think about that for a second. Look around your office right now, and think about that statistic. Think about the women and families that you see everyday – how many of these families have personal experience with fertility challenges?
Take some time to see the highlights from our conversation, and if you are interested in learning more about Houston IVF, the first consultation at Houston IVF is free. Let’s open this conversation up, and be there to support and encourage each other on our journey to parenthood.
Thank you to Houston IVF for providing this opportunity for conversation, and especially to Lauren, Lauren, and Annie for your openness and your grace.
