One of the reasons why I love having this blog is that I can use my voice for the most important topics, and this my friends, is one of them. September is Cancer Awareness Month and I’m joined by this group of women to bring awareness specifically to Ovarian Cancer. I was invited to take part in this campaign by my beautiful friend Megan, who just celebrated being one year cancer free, so Ovarian Cancer awareness is obviously near and dear to her. I have to admit if it wasn’t for Megan, I wouldn’t know a quarter of what I know about the most common symptoms and the lack of screening available. Most of all, I’ve learned that this is an important cancer to catch as early as possible to increase the chances of beating it, so we need to make a little noise and get talking about Ovarian Cancer.
I am proud to stand with these beautiful friends and ask you to learn more, too. This article on Shape Magazine is a great primer and I encourage you to visit Judy’s Mission who is working so hard to find a better way to detect the cancer earlier and increase treatment options and survival. Thank you to Rocio Carlon Studios for taking these beautiful pictures so we can share this important message – let’s get talking!
