The founders of the new online children’s shop Tiny Geese, Alexandra, Jamie, and Jessica, met through their children’s playgroup. The three mamas quickly discovered they had a lot in common beyond motherhood and started by developing products for their own children and decided that, if they needed them, others might need them, too. They decided to create Tiny Geese with their children as their inspiration.
As first time parents, they all had spent hours sifting through the sometimes overwhelming number of options out there. They believe every good parent needs a good partner and hope to take the guess work out of which products might be right for the child in your life with their curated collection. Tiny Geese offers smartly designed products such as the Hold on Tight and the Snap a Bow. They also offer carefully selected children’s products from other companies based on items their own children love.
Tiny Geese carries high quality brands of children’s toys and products, such as Plan Toys, Alex, and Janod. Their online store has everything from books to arts & crafts to musical instruments, like this ridiculously cute ukelele. Some of their favorite products in the Tiny Geese store right now are the Eric Carle Animal Flash Cards, Story Box Safari, and Hoot Owl Hoot cooperative board game – one of our favorites, too, from Berkeley, CA based Peaceable Kingdom. The website is easy to navigate by category or by age, and there are TONS of gift ideas for all the kiddos in your life.
I asked the three moms if they had any advice about becoming mompreneurs, and they answered that taking risks is scary, but don’t be afraid to create your own path when you aren’t satisfied with the existing options. Starting Tiny Geese allowed them to create their own schedule, have a creative outlet, work with people they really enjoy, and learn something new every day. All three had satisfying and successful careers before they had children, but after kids knew that they didn’t fit into the traditional stay-at-home mom role or the traditional 9-5 job either. Here’s to moms collaborating over creativity!
